I’m so excited Facebook has made it easier to run promotions! To celebrate, I’ve decided to randomly select three lucky individuals to receive any non-bundle product of their choice. All fans had to do was leave a comment on my FB post and tell me which product they’d like to receive, and then I used a random number generator to select the winners. Yay free stuff!

August’s theme was “Different World.” I asked you to get inspired by a narrative, reinterpret it, and channel your vision into a photograph. And channel it you did. Wow, guys. I have loved all of the contests, but this one was on a whole new level. The creativity of your entries completely blew me out of the water and I had to work painstakingly to choose just a few to feature. Nice work, all of you. If you haven’t already, please take some time to admire your peers’ work – it really is incredible.
Our “People’s Choice Winner” who received the most votes in the photo contest was Jill Klicman with her entry “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf”. Jill comments, “In this image I wanted to convey the feelings I had as a child when I dreamed over pictures from old fairy tale picture books. This image and its dreamlike quality and painterly feel is a compilation of many feelings inspired by those stories and pictures from long ago.”
Textures used: Flare 4, Wind 3, Fog 1, Emulsify
NOTE: Contestants are allowed to win the “People’s Choice” portion of the vote contest only once.
Judge’s Choice Winner:
(Please remember – to be considered for an honorable mention, you MUST add your photo to my FB wall (even if you already entered the contest).
As always, thank you for participating, for supporting this community with your art. I admire and am inspired by each one of you. Keep up the good work and stay tuned for next month’s theme – “One Word”!

A million thank you’s to those who participated. This was by far one of my favorite contests I’ve hosted yet – so much depth and sincerity in these images. What a lovely bunch you are.

Yet another fabulous contest, guys. The “no model” requirement was meant to stretch your creativity, and I absolutely saw this come through. Despite the fact that many of you are portrait photographers, there were a plethora of stunning landscapes, gorgeous florals, and some very unique still-lifes. Thank you once again for all the entries, the thought you put into them, and the beauty you shared. Yet again, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality I saw, and even though I say this every time, I’m going to say it again: You guys keep making it harder and harder for me pick just a few to highlight! Congratulations to you all, and without further ado, here are the winners and honorable mentions.
Top Vote Winner (661 Points):
Our “People’s Choice Winner” who received the most votes in the photo contest was Amy Costello Weiss of AW Photography with her entry “Vanishing Act”. Amy comments, “Sometimes, I wish I was a bird and could fly far, far away. I think everyone would like to escape to a quiet sanctuary every now and then… if only to disappear for a little while. For this image, I used the Storm’s Edge cloud overlay (clean) and blended it into my still life image. I wanted to evoke a feeling of freedom and flying, and the clouds were the perfect touch.”
Textures used: “Storm’s Edge” Cloud Overlay
NOTE: Contestants are allowed to win the “People’s Choice” portion of the vote contest only once.
Judge’s Choice Winner:
